The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. On May 15, 1955, the organization received its national charter and became the National Association of Women in Construction NAWIC has grown over the years from the 16 founding members to approximately 5,800 members with close to 200 chapters. NAWIC has chapters in almost every US state and in two Canadian providences. NAWIC also has International Affiliations Agreements with NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, and South African Women in Construction (SAWIC).
